Welcome to Girls on the Run of Randolph County! We are excited to bring the health, fitness & self esteem program of Girls on the Run International to central West Virginia! Our first year was a huge success and the 2008 spring season has been a fantastic one as well! Season Three of Girls on the Run ended in grand fashion at the Mother's Day 5K on May 10th in Elkins. Rainy weather didn't deter 98 folks from entering and finishing the race. The girls all stepped up to the challenge and ran their hearts out. Todd Price, from Jennings-Randolph School, completed the race in 28:12 ... SKIPPING A JUMPROPE the whole way. And Katelyn Mahoney, from the Belington Middle School Girls on Track program won the overall title for the women's race. Congratulations to everyone who came out and raced and a hearty thanks to all of our incredible volunteers, sponsors and individuals who helped out in any way, particularly Becky O'Brien, who baked dozens of beautiful and delicious cookies for everyone to enjoy after the race. Full Results are available HERE, and check back for final details from the GOTR Teacher Challenge. Do you have no clue what Girls on the Run is? Click on "What is GOTR" in the top left to find out. |
